St. Mary Mercy Livonia Receives “A” grade for Patient Safety

LIVONIA, MI, (April 12, 2017) – Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, which assigns A, B, C, D and F letter grades to hospitals nationally for patient safety, announced today that St. Mary Mercy Livonia received an “A” ranking for Spring 2017.

"It is a tremendous honor to receive an 'A' from Leapfrog, a grade that recognizes our hospital as being among the safest in the United States," said Dave Spivey, president and CEO of St. Mary Mercy Livonia. "This recognition tells our patients that their safety is at the heart of how we provide medical care."

Developed under the guidance of an expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
